Dutch darts star Michael van Gerwen has claimed victory at the 2024 Players Championship 21 in Wigan, securing the title with an impressive 8-4 win over Dave Chisnall in the final.
The event, held at Robin Park Tennis Centre, marked the second Players Championship of the week. Van Gerwen showcased his class throughout the tournament, overcoming a competitive field that included big names like Gerwyn Price, Stephen Bunting, and Luke Littler.
Van Gerwen started his campaign with a solid 6-3 victory over James Wade in the Last 16, followed by a dominant performance in the quarter-finals where he defeated Gian van Veen 6-3. In the semi-finals, he continued his form with a commanding 7-2 win over Maik Kuivenhoven.
